Awards and acknowledgements

Throughout 2020, we were recognized in the form of awards, honors and rankings compiled by reputable publications. The year’s main accomplishments are shown here:

Exame magazine analyzed 3,000 companies operating in Brazil before selecting Algar Telecom as “Company of the Year” as well as “Best telecommunications sector company” for its 2020 awards, in which respect our innovative initiatives adopted in 2020 were decisive. The awards – known as the “Oscars for Brazilian companies” recognized local companies that grew most and posted high profitability, financial health, market share and productivity per employee.

Algar Telecom was elected Telecom company with the best environmental, social and governance practices for Exame magazine’s Best ESG award.

After winning the Most Sustainable Telecom award in Brazil for 7 consecutive years, the Exame award was reformulated in 2021. Nevertheless, we continued to earn recognition of our ESG practices as among the best in Brazil.

Recognized as Outstanding Company of the Year in the Corporate Services segment in this yearbook, which compares telecommunications companies in terms of evolution of net revenue and selects standouts based on financial criteria, business strategy, investments, installed base and productivity.

Algar Telecom took second place in the most innovative Telecommunications sector company. The award is made by Valor Econômico (newspaper), which analyzes 23 sectors of the economy.

Algar was voted most innovative IT user company in Brazil for this IT Media award, held in partnership with PwC, which annually recognizes the most innovative initiatives that impact business in Brazil.

We were elected one of the 150 best companies to work for in Brazil in this iteration of the awards made in partnership with Época Negócios (business magazine), which highlighted companies with high levels of innovation and trust in their leaders.

One of the few telecommunications sector companies to receive the seal from Reclame Aqui, Latin America’s largest website solving conflicts between consumers and companies, which highlights companies with excellent levels of service and responses to complaints posted to the site. Companies that have earned this seal show commitment to their consumers’ after-sales issues, thus reaching higher levels of confidence in their brands, products and services.

In 2020, we ranked 16th among the ‘Best Companies to Work For in Brazil’, based on companies scores and ratings on the Indeed website.

One of the winners of the 24th Anefac – Fipecafi Award in the category for companies posting up to R$8 billion in revenues, which recognizes the practice of transparency for the market, thus encouraging clear and timely disclosure of financial statements.

Best Annual Report for the year 2019 in the 22nd Abrasca Awards, in the category for listed companies posting up to R$3 billion net revenues.
